Pickleball courts wear out faster than tennis courts — more players per square foot, constant kitchen-line traffic, and dink rallies that polish the same ten square feet all day. Where a tennis court gives you 5–8 years between coats, a busy pickleball facility often sees real wear at 3–5 years. Resurfacing is how you reset the clock.
2026 pricing, per court
- Standard recoat (resurfacer + 2 color coats + lines): $3,500–$7,000
- With crack repair: $5,000–$9,000
- Add CushionX mid-cycle: +$3–$5/sq ft
- Multi-court facilities: per-court price drops meaningfully with mobilization spread across courts
Read your court's wear pattern
- Kitchen-line polish — smooth, shiny patches at the NVZ line mean texture is gone; footing follows.
- Color fade to gray — UV has eaten the binder; the surface is chalking.
- Hairline cracking — address now, before it's structural (see crack repair).
- Slick when damp — the most dangerous symptom, and the most common trigger for club resurfacing votes.
The resurfacing sequence
Same discipline as a new build: wash, repair, level, resurface, two coats of Acrytech color at pickleball texture spec, then lines. Three to five dry days per court. Facilities usually rotate courts so play never fully stops.
Make the next cycle longer
Two upgrades pay for themselves at resurfacing time: a CushionX layer (players feel it immediately, and it protects the surface as well as the knees), and fixing drainage or shade issues that accelerated the wear in the first place.
